Land-Grant Roots

More than 160 years ago, Michigan State University pioneered the land-grant model that helped revolutionize higher education in the United States by serving as the prototype for the land-grant colleges created by the Morrill Act. To celebrate the anniversary of the signing of the act, we created a short video exploring our university’s important role in the shaping of modern higher education. Viewers reacted with strong feelings of pride, and the video became our best-performing feature content of all time on Twitter.
